San Francisco and San Francisco and Beyond.com was born on a rainy winter morning in 1999 when I was reading about all the excitement that was happening at the peak of the internet craze in the Sunday newspaper. I wanted to participate, and so I came up with the idea for my website after surfing the web for a restaurant in Paris someone had told me about. After a quick search using Ask Jeeves, my favorite search engine at that time, I came across a website called Best-of-Paris.com which displayed information about the restaurant that I had wanted to investigate. It was a neat website, although now it's been taken over by a generic sort of company. However, it gave me the idea for San Francisco and Beyond.com. So, voila! Here it is, ready to help YOU find that special restaurant or something fun and interesting to do in the San Francisco bay area and beyond!

It is our sincere endeavor to provide an informative, personalized website dedicated to helping you get the most out of all the great opportunities to enjoy here in the bay area and beyond, whether you live around here or are visiting.

Please feel free to e-mail me if you have any travel-related questions. I'll try to get right back to you!

Happy exploring!
