Nob Hill/Russian Hill
Atop Nob Hill sits a beautifully manicured park flanked by Grace Cathedral, a gothic jewel, and gracious classic grand dame hotels including The Fairmont, The Mark Hopkins and The Huntington, which now features a spa. The streets bordering this area are California and Sacramento, Mason and Taylor. No matter what religion you subscribe to, you will feel welcome in Grace Cathedral, an Episcopalian church. The pageantry of Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve is a great experience, but any time is OK to drop in to experience the majesty of the place. There is a labyrinth walk you can experience if you like.

The hotels all feature excellent restaurants. At The Fairmont, for instance, one of the restaurants there is The Tonga Room, which in a South Pacific island setting complete with periodic tropical rain showers, offers dancing, dinner and exotic drinks. The Top of the Mark in the Mark Hopkins is one of the best and most famous places in the city to go for a panoramic view of The City while sipping on a drink in between dancing. A classic piano lounge at The Huntington is a great place for a rendevouz, and their restaurant The Big Four has the feel of a turn of the century drawing room.

A cable car can be ridden here, as well as to Russian Hill. Russian Hill is most famous for it’s segment of Lombard Street, the part that is called "The Crooked-est Street in the World". This is a fun walk past beautiful homes bordered by flowers and trees. The views from Russian Hill are amazing. The main street here is Polk Street, which is lined with many boutiques and restaurants.
